Running System Recovery from USB drive/SD Card

Important!

 Please save all important files and documents to an external device before you begin.

 The hard drive contents will be deleted. All information that it contains will be permanently

destroyed. This includes your email, your documents, your internet favourites, and your

music & videos files.

Recovery

1. Switch the PC off, then back on and start pressing the DEL key.

2. This will display a grey screen with blue title at the top. It should

begin ―Aptio Setup Utility.‖

3. Press the right-arrow key on the keyboard until ―Boot‖ is highlighted.

4. Highlight Boot Option #1.

5. Press Enter

6. Select ―USB HardDisk‖ from the list and press ENTER.

7. Highlight Boot Option #2.

8. Press Enter

9. Select ―Hard Disk‖ from the list and press ENTER.

10. Press the right-arrow key on the keyboard until ―Save & Exit‖

is highlighted.

11. Insert the Recovery Backup media.

12. Press Enter.

13. This will load into the recovery program.

14. Select ―Reinstall Windows‖ by clicking on the circle to the left.

15. Click the right arrow.

16. Put a tick in the box next to ―Start Full Destructive

Recovery‖.

17. Click the right arrow to Start Recovery.

18. When Recovery has completed, remove the Recovery Backup media and click the right arrow to

restart the system.

19. Your computer will then return you to its initial out-of-box experience.

Note

Once you have used the System Recovery utility you will need to re-install any additional software

and hardware that you may have added. Please refer to the documentation supplied with those

products for further help.
